CALLAWAY BIG BERTHA B21 FAIRWAY WOODS

Driving was always thought of as the hardest part of the game, slight mishits used to be severely punished with huge loss of distance and shots that flew off at all angles. Fortunately for golfers that is (mostly) no longer the case and drivers are now one of the easiest clubs to get a good result with.

Perhaps the hardest shot for the average golfer nowadays is the long second shot from the fairway using either a fairway wood or a long iron. Fairway woods still have relatively long shafts but much smaller heads than found on drivers. This means that it can prove difficult to get a consistent contact and enough launch to get the ball flying properly through the air. With the release of the Callaway Big Bertha B21 fairway woods Callaway have attempted to change that.

The B21 fairway woods have extremely shallow faces which makes getting the ball in air a significantly easier task as the centre of gravity is much lower. This will see the fairway wood perform more like a golf hybrid and offers a far greater margin of error than any other fairway wood on the market. The head is also oversized to make the transition from driver to fairway wood less of a shock to the system. This has also allowed Callaway greater opportunity to increase the perimeter weighting and increase forgiveness on off centre hits.

There is a generous amount of offset on the Callaway Big Bertha B21 fairway woods which provides a strong draw bias to help eliminate slice spin and replace it with a distance enhancing draw. The A.I. designed Flash Face, which has received such critical acclaim in the Mavrik series, can be found in the B21 fairway wood heads and produces some of the fastest ball speeds of any club on the market.

The B21 range is available in a 15-degree 3-wood, an 18-degree 5-wood, a 21-degree 7-wood and a 24-degree 9-wood and with such a superb choice of lofts it is now possible to replace those hard to hit long irons with these incredibly easy to use fairway woods. The stock shaft has been specifically designed for the B21 fairway wood and with an active tip section it helps the golfer add loft at impact ensuring a nice high launch even from tight fairway lies.

If you are a golfer that really needs added distance on your second shots but you have historically struggled to hit fairway woods, then the Callaway Big Bertha B21 fairway woods could be the perfect solution.
